While many La Roja fans are mourning Spain’s premature departure from the World Cup, we found one football fan who was thrilled Chile beat the defending world champions.
Anand Mahindra, one of India’s leading corporate leaders and CMD of Mahindra & Mahindra, tweeted his support for the Chilean national team. But a desire to support the little guy wasn’t the only reason Mahindra was backing Chile. Turns out Chile is the largest overseas market for the group’s automobiles.
It looks like Mahindra was a little torn between teams, since both countries are valuable markets for M&M.
But in the end, Mahindra seems happy with his choice.
But not all of India Inc’s honchos were happy with the Spanish performance. Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar Shaw took to Twitter to express her views on the team’s poor performance.
