Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), is offering ‘Jionet’ High Speed Wi-Fi internet service at Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet currenlty under way in Chennai.
The two-day investor conference that started on Thursday was inaugurated by state chief minister J Jayalalithaa aimed at attracting investments into the state. Jio is the official connectivity partner of the meeting.
Explaining the rationale behind the company’s move to tie up with TN-GIM, a Reliance Jio Spokesperson said, “…We want visitors to sample the digital ecosystem we are building consisting of high speed data networks, specially designed apps and rich content to understand how it can enrich their lives.”
The company will use the customers’ feedback on the overall experience and network to improve the services further as Jio gets ready for its formal launch. Once 4G LTE service commences, Wi-Fi and LTE networks will operate seamlessly with each other, a company release said.
Reliance Jio has 2300 MHz spectrum across the country and 800 MHz or 1800 MHz or both in 20 out of total 22 circles in the country. The company plans to use this spectrum to provide 4G services using LTE.
