So much has been said and written about how the world’s biggest and best firms are dealing with the four-year-old economic slowdown.
And seldom do we get to hear corporate chiefs saying there is no slowdown. Nitin Panajpe, chief executive officer of FMCG major Hindustan Unilever, is one such.

In an interview with the Business Standard, Paranjpe says although the situation is challenging, the company is prepared to face it armed with strategies.
Paranjpe does not give a straight answer to a pointed question whether the shift to volume-led growth has helped.
“People often talk about the choice between top line and bottom line. To me, that is a false choice. It is always both,”
Paranjpe also believes that there is strong potential for the packaged food market in India which right now stands at 5 percent.
