Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu today said that encroachment on railway land is a serious issue and to counter this, digitised mapping of land records has been initiated and responsibility will be fixed on officials for any encroachments.
“I wish to state that encroachment on Railway land is a serious issue. To counter this, digitized mapping of land records has been initiated and responsibility will be fixed on officials for any encroachments,” Prabhu said while reading out the Railway Budget in Parliament.
Encroachment has always been a major issue as the public sector behemoth often gets embroiled in battles with the public while implementing new projects due to land -related troubles.
