It seems big companies such as McKinsey & Company, Citibank, Deutsche Bank and Google are looking beyond IIMs to recruit.
According to a report in The Economic Times today, top companies have hired students fromsome of the country’s premier undergraduate institutions this yearfor a salary rangingbetween Rs 12 lakh and Rs 14.7 lakh.
In fact, these salaries compete with the average salaries that IIM graduates offered.
Average and median salaries at IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode hovered at Rs 12 lakh last year.
The highest salary offered at St Stephen’s College was Rs 14.7 lakh, notes the ET report . The other undergraduate colleges that received such big offers are Lady Shri Ram College, Shri Ram College of Commerce (both in Delhi) andSt Xavier’s Kolkata.
Students from streams like mathematics and economics have reportedly received the maximum offers.
