New Delhi: In reflection of growing economic prosperity of Delhiites, the per capita annual income in the national capital rose by nearly 14 percent to Rs 2.41 lakh in 2013-14 compared to the previous fiscal, which is almost three times the national average.
According to Economic Survey of Delhi 2014-15 tabled in the Delhi Assembly today, the annual per capita income in the national capital increased from Rs 2.12 lakh in 2012-13. The national per capita income in 2013-14 stood at Rs 87,748.
As per the survey, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at current prices during 2014-15 has increased to over Rs 4.51 lakh crore, a growth of 15.35 percent over the previous year.
At constant prices, the growth of the Gross State Domestic Product for 2014-15 is 8.2 percent as compared to 7.4 percent recorded at national level.
As per the survey, the fiscal deficit of Delhi government was Rs 2,21.25 crore in 2014-15, which is 0.049 percent of GSDP, as compared to estimated fiscal deficit of 2.35 percent of all states during the same year.
The expenditure incurred on social service sectors in Delhi increased from 48.79 percent in 10th Five Year Plan to 57.12 percent in the 11th Five Year Plan and 65.75 percent for the first three years of the 12th Five Year Plan.
Tax collection of Delhi government registered a growth of 2.64 percent in 2014-15 as compared to the growth of 10.60 percent in 2013-14, it said.
Delhi has maintained its consistent revenue surplus which was Rs 6,079.53 crore in 2014-15 as compared to Rs 5,615.37 crore in 2013-14.
