Seven Indian graduates who had interned at Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters have been offered jobs at the company, an employer would die to work with.

According to a report in The Times of India, they have been offered a mouthwatering remuneration - $100000 or 63 lakh per annum base salary, $75000 or nearly 47 lakh joining bonus and, hold your breath, $100000 worth FB stocks over four years. On the Nasdaq, the stock had closed at $47.01 on Friday.

The company had not been very keen on recruiting non-IITians from India, but this time round it has done away with this unwritten rule. According to the report, of the seven recruited, four are from institutes other than IIT. While only three of the nine applicants from IIT were offered jobs, four of the five non-IIT applicants got offer letters.

They will start working only once they complete their graduation in 2014.

Naturally, all of them are thrilled at the prospects. Kanishk Parihar from IIT Mumbai said the FB staff were “cool”. “I was keen on learning a lot of things going there, and people there were more than happy to show me around and explain,” he has been quoted as saying in the report.

Comparing the company with rival Google, another top-rated employer globally, a recent report in BusinessInsider that analysed data from job search website Glassdoor found the Facebook fared better in ratings given by employees. As per the data, though both the companies have difficult and long interviews, and only candidates with exceptional skills are considered for interviews, Facebook’s were a tad easier than Google’s. Google interviews last 35 days and that of Facebook 31 days.

As far as perks and salaries are concerned, Google wins hands down. On an average, a software engineer here gets $128,225, compared with Facebook’s $121,183. Work-life balance at Google is better than FB too.

However, when it comes to staff’s confidence in the company’s future, Facebook employees are more confident, the BI report said. As many as 84 percent of employees think FB has good prospects for the next six months as against Google’s 80 percent.
