The retired military man expects the government to come up with smart colony concept where money should be granted to colonies to meet their demands.

“If I were the finance minister I would see that the funds allocated in the Nirbhaya Fund last year of Rs 1,000 crore would come down to the colony level. Secondly, I would like to see that the money reaches colony level, community level for infrastructure, water and campaigns like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Otherwise we are taking up these activities on our own, we would like some resources to be made available for us to make this successful,” Major Kiran told CNN-IBN. “Third is I would like the bottom up approach where the requirements from community level are aggregated.”
