Diwali cheer: Discounts, freebies galore as cos try to woo consumers

New Delhi: As the festive season sales peaks,consumers are spoilt for choices as companies and serviceproviders flood the market with discount and freebies.

Consumer durables makers have come with offers as assuredgifts, cash backs and special packages as free installation,discount on annual maintenance cost, free insurance etc toboost their sales festive season.

South Korean major LG is storming the market with offerslike free 3D Blue Ray Home Theater with selected high endtelevisions, free LED TV 24 and 22 inch, with the purchase ofdesignated high end television models and an assured MagicMotion Remote with the purchase of selected smart TV models.

LG, which is expecting a 20 percent increase in itsfestive sales is giving five percent cash back to itspurchaser, if he pays through SBI card, LED installations in

seven hours, 30 percent discount on the annual maintenancecost and six month free insurance, etc.

The festive offers starts in the first week of October andgoes on till November 30.

Many companies has added new modelsin their product line recently targeting the festive sales.Japanese electronic firm Sony is also attracting its

potential customers with free Blu-Ray player, extra bassheadphone, memory card, carrying case and accidental damageprotection on its Xperia phone and tablets.

The company, which has a sales target of Rs 4,700 croreduring the festive season is providing Sony Blu-Ray playerfree along with five 4K mastered movie titles on purchase ofUltra HD TV sets and cordless headphone on purchase of LED TV.

Another South Korean firm Samsung is also bullish on thefestive offers. It is giving Galaxy tablets free on purchaseof its Ultra HD TV sets, LED TVs of 65 and 75 inches, floorstanding air conditioners and side by side refrigerators.The company which has a target of Rs 3,500 crore is givingblueray disc player free over purchase of LED between 28 to 40inches. It is also giving one steam iron free over purchase offrontload washing machines and dish washers.

Moreover, the company has also come up with cash backoffer up to Rs 1,000 on purchase of plasma and some models ofLED TVs. It is also giving a scratch card giving its customersa chance to win free air conditioner.

Panasonic India has also come up with offers as extendedwarranty, EMI options, exchange offers, combo bonanzas andassured gifts. On its Lumix series of cameras, the company isgiving 4GB SD card, carry case and three years extendedwarranty free.

The company has a target of Rs 1,200 crore sales.It is giving assured gifts as steam iron, dessert sets andstart up kits on purchase of home appliances as washing

machines, refrigerators, micro ovens and air conditions. Italso giving one Benetton bag free over purchase of Viera LED29 inch TV set.
