With cars costing a good few lakhs one would think the organisers of Delhi’s Auto Expo would invest some money and thought in providing functional and good fire equipment and facilities that would match up.
But, alas not.

The Delhi Fire Service has said that the event has not given a ’no objection certificate’ (NOC) to the organisers of the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, which is currently on at Pragati Maidan, Delhi.
“We did the inspection and found that the fire safety equipment was not functional. Hence, we denied the NOC,” said DFS chief AK Sharma.
The auto expo, touted as one of the biggest auto exhibitions in Asia, kickstarted today and will go on till December 12.
The first two days are media days after which the expo will be thrown open for the public.

“We have put a cap or upper limit of one lakh people to visit the expo, daily,” said Rajiv Kale, chairman, steering committee, while addressing the press on Tuesday.
