Yatra appoints Himanshu Verma as chief technology officer

New Delhi: Online travel portal Yatra.com today announced the appointment of Himanshu Verma as chief technology officer of the company.[caption id=“attachment_2244236” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Yatra, chief technology officer, Himanshu Verma.[/caption] Verma will lead technology development for all businesses and products of Yatra. “The appointment is set to augment the organization’s technology capabilities and formalize strategy to build the business across networks, locations and technologies. The role will also have him engaged in growing the mobile business, which is now touted as the future of the travel industry,” a Yatra release said. On the new appointment, Yatra, co-founder and CEO, Dhruv Shringi, said, “Himanshu brings to the table an extensive technology experience that will be key in helping us further formulate and drive our business strategy. His vision will be instrumental in helping our customers achieve their success, which in turn is what drives our growth.” Verma joined Yatra.com from Flipkart where he was Director of Engineering for three years. Prior to Flipkart, he worked with Yahoo! for around six years.
