Businessman Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, is reportedly closing down six companies which were set up just two years ago.

Businessman Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, is reportedly closing down six companies that were set up just two years ago.

According to CNN-IBN, Vadra has written to the Corporate Affairs Minister to close the six companies.

Earlier, a report in Hindustan Times said that none of the six firms have ever filed annual returns or balance sheets.

Lifeline Agrotech, Greenwave Agro, Rightline Agriculture, Future Infra Agro, Best Seasons Agro and Prime Time Agro are the private limited companies which are being shut down.

These agro-processing firms were established between June and August 2012 and all list Vadra as the managing director and promoter.

“All six companies are now listed by the ministry of corporate affairs as ‘having status under the process of being struck off.When that process is complete they will legally cease to exist,” said the report.

Amit Mehta, director of DLF, is reportedly a director and promoter of the companies along with Vadra.

The DLF land dealings undertaken by Vadra and Mehta in Haryana had earlier been alleged to be corrupt with respect to acquisition of

clearances.
