Mittu Chandilya, CEO, AirAsia India is quoted in the press release as saying, “Starting flights to Jaipur and Chandigarh was a strategic decision since we wanted to accelerate our operations in North, considering the demand for our services.”

Earlier this week, AirAsia India announced the start of Bangalore-Kochi flights with tickets starting at Rs 500.

Last month AirAsia India launched flights from Bangalore to Chennai and Goa at prices much below levels which would cover costs of the airline.

AirAsia India launched its services more than 15 months after it announced a 49:30:21 partnership with Tata group and Arun Bhatia’s Telestra TradePlace to set up a budget carrier in the country in February 2013.
