 "Cairn India ropes in Aircel's Sudhir Mathur as CFO")
Cairn India said it has appointed Sudhir Mathur as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & member of the company’s Executive Committee.
Mathur “joins Cairn India in early September, 2012 from Aircel Cellular Ltd, where he was the CFO and responsible for strategy, finance, supply chain management and regulatory affairs,” the company said in a statement here.
Prior to Aircel Cellular, Mathur, who was handpicked by Cairn’s outgoing Managing Director and CEO Rahul Dhir, has held senior positions in Delhi International Airport Ltd, Idea Cellular, Ballarpur Industries and PriceWaterhouseCoopers India.

Dhir, who has been the face of Cairn India for six years, has resigned from the company and will quit by month end. Mathur graduated in Economics from Delhi University and completed a Masters of Business Administration from Cornell University.
Dhir said, “Cairn India is delighted to have Sudhir on board who comes with an excellent track record of value creation… The experience and knowledge that Sudhir brings to our team will spur us towards our goal of being a world class E&P organization”.
Mathur said, “Cairn India presents an exciting opportunity for me. Cairn India has a unique asset base and is well placed to continue to deliver sustainable growth and value for the foreseeable future”
