Bumper, a Bengaluru-based start-up and a one-stop solution provider for car care announced that it has secured $0.5 million seed funding led by SAIF partners. Founded in the year 2015, the start-up draws inspiration from its parent company Autoninja, a venture funded start-up building technology for auto retailers in India. Bumper provides for all post-sales car support and needs. It helps consumers get accurate quotes for any dent, paint or repair work and facilitates booking appointments for its customers in over 100 workshops in Bengaluru for any car repairs and servicing needs like engine oil change, AC repair, wheel alignment/balancing, brakes overhaul, advanced car cleaning or washing etc. “We are excited to have received the support of a global investor like SAIF Partners. There was a growing need for a comprehensive and trustworthy platform that could help car owners address all their car-related requirements. Today, customers really don’t know which is the best workshop in town is what really needs to be done to their car and what is the right price for same. We are trying to solve this problem by aggregating verified workshops and service providers. Our app makes it very easy to discover the right solution for your car problem and track real time status as the job is being done. This funding will allow us to build a valuable team with deeper understanding and passion for cars so as to deliver quality service to its customers”, said Akhil Gupta, Co-Founder, Bumper. With more vehicles on road, there will be a great need for a platform that can aggregate supply and demand sides for the car aftermarket in an efficient manner. " Broadly targeting every car owner in Bengaluru at present, the company says the early adopters are employees between the age group of 25 to 40, residing in the metropolis. Basis the anticipation, Bumper plans on expanding to Delhi, Mumbai and other major cities by early next year. In addition to the geographical expansions, it also aims at escalating the scope of its services further, adding true value to the overall experience of its users.
