Budget 2016: 'Address tax issues related to infra investment trust'

As the Union Budget 2016-17 draws closer, expectations are soaring. According to Gautam Mehra, leader - tax, PwC, the two major thrust areas for the Narendra Modi government are Make in India and infrastructure. He hopes the government has enough fiscal strength to boost both.

"One could hope for changes in the tax laws especially related to infrastructure companies. One issue that has been pending is the tax irritant around infrastructure investment trust and the slightly high tax leakage when the money finally reaches the investor," he said.
