(‘Must Watch’ is a weekly feature, where we put up some of the latest commercials that catch our eye, from across the globe. If you spot an ad that you think the world_must_watch, send it to us at**mukta.lad@web18.in**and we just might feature it (with due credit, of course!)
It’s Monday, and after taking a small break to make way for football and Cannes Lions, we are back with five of the best international ads that are making waves across the globe. Watch them below:
Flo: First Moon Party
This commercial deserves a big ‘yay’. After long, a female hygiene product ad that isn’t repetitive (think of all the ‘blue liquid’ commercials you have ever seen). But Flo doesn’t really like going down that well-travelled road. After its ‘Camp Gyno’ ad comes ‘First Moon Party’, the story of a young girl who fakes getting her period for the first time. The ad is fun, innovative and bold, weaving in the brand connect seamlessly.
Pantene: Not Sorry
Pantene asks a powerful question: ‘Why do women apologise so much?’ and turns it around to weave in a brand message. Some of the instances shown in the ad could have been slightly more powerful, though, but overall, a great ad.
Durex ‘Don’t Fake It’
Durex has come up with an entertaining commercial to combat the current FIFA mood. The brand has just a simple message for viewers - Don’t Fake It - which it goes on to showcase with just the right amount of melodrama. This one is bound to make you chuckle.
VISA: Restaurant
This one’s a fun FIFA commercial. What happens when a France v/s Italy match is on, and a Frenchman ends up cheering his country in a roomful of Italians? Well, Zidane finds out, doesn’t he? The commercial is endearing and towards the end, it’s VISA who emerges as the winner. Take a look!
Coca-Cola: The Story of Bubamara
Inspirational stories set on the backdrop of political strife always get attention, but this Coke ad keeps viewers’ attention till the end. And again, with the brand connect weaved in beautifully, Coke does not take over the premise of the commercial at any point. Watch this one and feel good.
