European Parliament: #MyFirstTime

The elections to the European Parliament are happening this week from May 22-25. The Parliament, in a bid to get first time voters to go out there and cast their votes, recently aired a new ad, #MyFirstTime. The ad shows a young man voting for the first time, not anticipating the whirlwind of a day he finally ends up having. So what will be viewer’s first time like? Great connect, nicely shot and completely watchable (even repeatedly), this one just might make voting an exciting affair for first-timers.

Star Wars Weekends: Big Red Bow

Tell fans they can watch Star Wars on all weekends for a month, and nothing will be sweeter to their ears. Spinning this into the context of gift exchange on wedding anniversaries, watch what is the ‘best gift any man can have’. Funny, witty and tongue-in-cheek, this one captures the proverbial inner child’s excitement at receiving the perfect presently, nicely.

A.1 Sauce: New friend requests

What happens when someone has been in a relationship with a person for a really long time, but wants to be around someone different for a change? And especially if it is a steak sauce that wants to explore other foods, but doesn’t want to hurt the steak’s feelings? It’s complicated, yes, but A.1 Sauce’s newest ad decodes this very well. Enter salmon, pork, potatoes and all kinds of food the sauce pairs up with. The steak is miffed and hurt at first, but comes around, anyway. Watch this rather complex love story set on Facebook come alive; it just might make you go ‘aww’.

**Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon:**The Unsung Bacon Story

Oscar Mayer claims that its Turkey Bacon variant is every bit as good as the others they offer, but is less known; much like musician Michael Bacon. He is one half of ‘The Bacon Brothers’ and Kevin Bacon’s brother. Since Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon knows a thing or two about not getting its due, it feels Michael’s pain and wants him to get wider recognition. This amusing commercial makes you smile, for being cheeky and for the smart juxtaposition of the turkey bacon and Michael Bacon.

Turkish Airlines: The Dream

Some ads are in a language you don’t understand. Within those, there are ads you need to know the language for, while it doesn’t matter for the others. Turkish Airlines’ commercial ‘The Dream’ falls in the latter category. The commercial weaves in the dreams of three children who want the world for themselves, but start small by building a makeshift airport for the plane they have always wanted to see up close. Child-like yet mature, this one doesn’t feel long despite being all of two minutes.
