It’s Monday, the day we kick-start your week with some really cool commercials from all over the world. Here are five of the best ads from the week gone by; have a look!

Apple iPad: Esa-Pekka’s Verse

Apple’s iPad can do a lot of fabulous things, including making music. But this spot by the brand takes this a notch higher. Apple roped in renowned music composer and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen to demonstrate how exactly his moments of inspiration become fully orchestrated scores in this visually delightful 60-seconder.

Electrolux: The best present

This one hits the spot (almost as any ad about mothers does). Although reminiscent of British Airways’ ‘Ticket to visit mum’ campaign from last year, this new spot by Electrolux tugs at the proverbial heartstrings, gets across the brand’s message and makes you want to call your mum out-of-the-blue. Cool effort!

Volkswagen: Little Boy

Volkswagen’s newest spot is just the right amount of sassy. Once you get over the slight shock of seeing a boy not older than six years driving a car, you get into the groove and tap your feet along to the background score, too. But why is a little boy driving a car around town? You’ll have to watch this rather fun ad to know.

Motorola: Meet Moto E

Lots of slow-motion, colours and a suitably cute background score, this may the nicest looking overview of a phone’s features that you might ever see. In just a minute, you know that the phone is scratch-resistant, water-resistant, comes with customizable shells and has a battery that lasts all day too. Simple, easy, non-technical and great to look at, this commercial needs a big thumbs up.

Mankind: Violence is Violence

Domestic violence is a serious issue when it is the woman being abused. But what happens with the roles are reversed and it is the man getting abused? This beautifully-shot ad depicts how 40% of domestic violence victims are male, and how their plight isn’t taken very seriously. The ad reinforces how violence is not cool, whoever may be at the receiving end, and does so with great impact. Good stuff!
