The world’s largest distiller, Diageo, is betting big on India. Last week, it opened the Johnnie Walker Travel House at the Mumbai airport - its fourth after Beijing, Shanghai and Seoul, and just last month, it launched its global campaign ‘The Gentleman’s Wager’ for Johnnie Walker Blue Label in the country with much fanfare.
India is the world’s largest whiskey market and after upping its stake recently in the Vijay Mallya owned United Spirits, Diageo-USL is India’s largest spirits maker.
