Recently, WPP unveiled its inaugural BrandZ brand valuation study. After China, Latin America and a global list, WPP’s brand evaluation study has made it to India last week. Conducted by Millward Brown, the ranking lists 50 most valuable brands across 37 categories, using financial data from Bloomberg and Kantar Worldpanel along with consumer opinion.
12 international and 38 Indian brands made it to the list of top 50, with HDFC Bank topping that list with a total brand valuation of over 9 billion dollars, and Airtel and SBI in second and third place, respectively. According to the report, the combined value of the 50 brands is approximately $70 billion. Of these, 26 are private Indian brands, 17 are MNCs and 7 are state-owned brands.
