Videocon d2h has roped in Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra as the face of the brand. The company has rolled out a new campaign featuring Chopra to promote the benefits of the new Unlimited Asli HD Recorder and Radio Frequency Remote. The TV-led campaign has been conceptualized by Lowe Lintas & Partners.

The film opens to Chopra telling the viewers how we as a people are extremely cool being interrupted in our most special moments, attributing it to our values. It shows a couple engrossed in each other at a restaurant, when a sweeper tells them to lift their legs so he can sweep. Next, the couple is just about to kiss in the car, when a man taps on their window asking for directions. The couple happily obliges him, too. Cut to the scene when the same couple is in a movie theatre watching a particularly engrossing scene, when the person next to them has his food passed on through them; they aren’t irritated at the intrusion, either. But when they are in front of a TV set and their child interrupts them, they completely ignore him and ask him to wait for a bit; an interruption isn’t very welcome in this case. Chopra then comes in telling viewers that they can now keep their Indian values of being interrupted intact, because of Videocon d2h’s new Unlimited Asli HD Recorder.

Speaking about the campaign, Saurabh Dhoot, director, Videocon says, “Indian values epitomize our society. They are a part of our lifestyle and culture. Our new brand campaign featuring Parineeti captures some of these sentiments of Indian values and integrates it with our product deliverables. We believe Parineeti is the most appropriate choice to communicate our brand values. With all these unique features, one can attend to others, without missing the action on TV.”
Added Anil Khera, CEO, Videocon d2h, “With Videocon d2h, now you can pause your TV, record unlimited content, which means you won’t have a problem being interrupted anymore. We are happy to have Parineeti as a part of the Videocon d2h family, too. In addition to her acting talent, her connect with the Indian masses will definitely help us reach out to our customers. Our main focus is to enhance the customers’ television viewing experience.”
Amer Jaleel, national creative director, Lowe Lintas & Partners said, “We realized that as Indians, we are very accommodative and forgiving everywhere else but in front of TV. So we took such Indian values which disappear in front of the TV and showed them being restored through the features like ‘Unlimited Recording with USB’ and ‘RF remote with headphone’ of Videocon d2h. To deliver this, we needed someone like Parineeti who is a known personality and yet has an image of a person one amongst the common people. She also helped us land the message in a light-hearted manner.”
