United Bank Of India Sets Up Security Operation Centre

In line with the bank’s policy to provide safe and secure banking services to its customers, United Bank of India has set up a Security Operation Centre (SOC) at their Head Office in Kolkata.

On the inauguration of SOC, Bhaskar Sen, Chairman and MD, United Bank of India, highlighted the importance of information security in financial institutions due to heightened security threats emerging both on domestic and international front. The need for setting up such a centre has gained more importance recently as the banking industry is actively encouraging for movement from paper transactions to electronic transactions.

The bank will centrally monitor attacks like Phishing, Trojan and take corrective actions. SOC will be the command centre for countering cyber threats and ensure compliance of the bank’s security policy.
