Prime Minister Manmohan Singh launches UPA-2’s most ambitious project on Wednesday - the Unique Identity Number (UID), the first of which will be issued in Nandurbar in Maharashtra.
The first UID card will be handed out by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi at the Thembli village in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra.
Welcome to Tembhili village in the most backward Nandurbar district of Maharashtra. Only last week this tribal village got electricity connection. But on Wednesday Thembhili will kickstart India’s most ambitious project Aadhaar – which aims at providing every Indian a unique identity.
