TCS and VMware said they will jointly create pre-integrated and pre-tested solutions to accelerate the adoption and deployment of enterprise scale applications as well as end user computing solutions running on a software-defined data centre architecture powered by VMware infrastructure.
Initially, the collaboration will provide offerings for SAP, Oracle, and Enterprise Analytics.
TCS will provide architectural design, transformation, and operational expertise to allow customers to transform their business and applications. VMware will provide the complete software-defined data centre portfolio, including virtualised compute, network and storage utilising VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, VMware Virtual SAN and VMware vRealize Suite. Customers will also have the option of deploying the applications on a hybrid cloud environment utilising VMware vCloud Air.
To enhance customer evaluation, design and implementation, TCS and VMware will create a new global customer Center of Excellence (CoE) with two data centre locations in Milford, Ohio and Pune, India.
The CoE will also enable customers to beta test real-world application workloads and to assess the value and the effort to deploy applications in a software-defined data centre.
"With the VMware infrastructure and converged cloud services offerings, TCS will be able to rapidly design, transform and operate traditional IT into software-defined data centres, and deploy mission-critical enterprise workloads in weeks versus years. TCS' proven expertise to drive applications led infrastructure transformation with a programmable model, can now leverage VMware's technologies to simplify and standardize application workload driven IT transformations," Raman Venkatraman, Vice President and Global Head of Alliances and Technology Unit, TCS said.
