TCS launches monitoring and management framework for Red Hat OpenStack Platform

Rise of smart devices and increasing mobile data traffic has led to a growing demand for network services. Network equipment manufacturers are driven to create new solutions such as Network Function Virtualization (NFV). To aid the growing demand, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, has announced the launch of Mobile Network Function Virtualization (NFV) Management framework for anytime-anywhere NFV monitoring and management for Red Hat OpenStack Platform. NFV enables operators to monetize their cloud infrastructure more effectively by providing capabilities to start new services quickly and seamlessly meet changing network demands. It also provide them with the ability to monitor their cloud environment and make critical business decisions in near real time is crucial to fully realize the benefits of NFV. The TCS framework enables the Network administrators to monitor and manage critical operations with Red Hat OpenStack Platform. It features customisable dashboards and supports OpenStack business processes such as cloud scaling, virtual machine migration, continuous integration and development. This solution framework can also be used by enterprise administrators to achieve real-time insights into private cloud operations such as storage and backup, technology refresh and virtual lab management. Speaking about the framework, V Rajanna, Vice President and Global Head, Technology Business Unit, TCS, said, “This solution is a testament to TCS’ expertise in leveraging digital technologies in conceptualizing and developing frameworks and solutions for next generation networks. For mobile networks that plan to stay ahead of the curve, digital technologies such as cloud and virtualization are the next step. TCS’ Mobile NFV Management frameworks will help them achieve that step.” Darrell Jordan-Smith, vice president of Worldwide Service Provider Sales, Red Hat stated, “We are pleased to continue our collaboration with TCS to help global communications service providers (CSPs) to expand their NFV deployments to a wider customer base and respond quickly to increasing demand through highly scalable Red Hat OpenStack Platform. As Red Hat continues our work to bring more carrier-grade NFV technologies to OpenStack, and our efforts to deliver the industry’s best production-ready OpenStack platform for CSPs, TCS’s new monitoring and management capabilities offer users the ability to manage their NFV operations in a variety of deployment environments.
