SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is the Linux operating system selected by SAP as the supported environment for running SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator software, the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search application and the enterprise agent in the SAP StreamWork application. It is now the supported offering for use with SAP HANA, based on its ability to help organisations integrate, secure and manage information assets to reduce complexity and cost.

SAP HANA is a flexible, multipurpose, data-source-agnostic, in-memory appliance that combines SAP software components optimised on most major hardware platforms. SAP HANA helps customers instantly analyse large volumes of transactional data from virtually any data source in real time, solving critical business operations and reporting needs to stay competitive.

Through SUSE’s close collaboration with SAP, customers worldwide benefit from tight integration of products and services as well as comprehensive operating system service and support options.

“Our relationship with SUSE demonstrates the power of co-innovation and is a strong example of how SAP’s ecosystem of industry-focused and community-powered partners delivers value to our customers,” said Ingo Brenckmann, program manager, Data and Analytic Engines, SAP. “Having SUSE Linux Enterprise Server available in support of SAP HANA and our in-memory computing initiative, our customers can further maximise the value of implementing our leading-edge technology in Linux environments.”

The IBM Systems solution for use with SAP HANA is a workload-optimised, pre-loaded, pre-configured appliance that can improve performance and lower total cost of ownership.
