Music recording company Saregama has announced that it is going to implement mySAP Business Suite and SAP Intellectual Property Management (IPM) module for enhanced operational efficiency and more effective revenue management through its Intellectual Property.
The implementation of mySAP Business Suite will automate key processes like Sales and Distribution, Production Planning, Quality Management, Material Management, Project Systems, Human Resources, Financial Accounting, Controlling and Budgeting, and Data Warehousing.
However, the interesting thing about this implementation is the deployment of the IPM module by Saregama. This will be the first time that an Indian media-entertainment company will implement SAP solution for Intellectual Property Management,
The IPM solution will provide support for Saregama’s IP-related processes such as content planning, content development, rights tracking, availability reporting, and contract management. This will help the company in increasing revenue from sales and licensing of all types of IP rights and deliver accurate royalty accounting for both receipts and payments of royalties.
Besides these, it will also help in analyzing the performance of IPs over the entire life cycle, and control the owned and acquired licenses by capturing all terms and conditions on royalty obligations.
“We wanted to implement a solution that could primarily help us manage our Intellectual Property better and also help us make informed business decisions in the rapidly changing business environment” said Amit Mukherjee, CTO, RPG Group. “SAP became an obvious choice as it is the only ERP solution provider offering solutions for IP management along with other business modules.”
The combination of the mySAP Business Suite and the IPM module is expected to provide Saregama with an integrated software solution to facilitate better business decisions and enable effective resource management through integrated Intellectual Property Management and working capital management.
