Slowly yet steadily, Artificial Intelligence, is taking the centre stage in our lives, and companies are gearing up to ensure they aren't late in the fast paced tech world. At the Dreamforce conference, Safesforce is ensuring that AI arrives in enterprise software by announcing the Einstein artificial intelligence AI platform.
John Ball, General Manager for Salesforce Einstein said that AI is not within the reach of majority of companies as it's really hard. The company wants to change that with Einstein. It basically plans to push in AI everywhere through the cloud. Einstein artificial intelligence (AI) platform will be implemented into its existing cloud services namely, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Analytics Cloud, App Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Community Cloud, and IoT Cloud. This means, it isn't a separate product, but simply puts it as 'AI for CRM with AI capabilities across all clouds'. "It's AI in the context of CRM," Ball said.
Besides, the company also plans to form a Salesforce Research unit that will work at deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision to spruce up Salesforce products. It will be headed by Salesforce chief scientist Richard Socher, who has co-founded AI startup MetaMind, acquired by Salesforce. If reports are to be believed than Salesforce’s 175 data scientists have joined the new division, but there is no word on the exact figures.
"Einstein will be part of the core platform with some features and tools being built into existing services and licenses. Other Einstein features will be additional charges," points out ZDNet.
New Einstein features will start arriving from next month. Some of Salesforce's competitors are Microsoft, Oracle and SAP.
