Ranjan Das, the president of SAP Indian Subcontinent, and MD of SAP India, passed away yesterday in Mumbai following a cardiac arrest. Das was 42.
“This comes as a great shock to all of us within the SAP family and is felt most profoundly by every one of us,” SAP said in a statement.
Das had played a significant role in the establishment of SAP in the region and had to his credit over 15 years of experience in the enterprise software space.
Prior to joining SAP, he was the founder and CEO of Patkai Networks, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital-funded software start-up company.
Das’ academic exposure spanned obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
