ProCurve Networking has announced updated standards-based products to provide customers enhanced security at the network edge. These include the ProCurve Network Access Controller 800 appliance and ProCurve Network Immunity Manager software, as well as free upgrades of ProCurve Identity Driven Manager 2.2 and ProCurve Plus Manager 2.2 software.
ProCurve Network Access Controller 800 (NAC 800) is network access control appliance that adds endpoint integrity to an organisation’s network security capabilities. It works in conjunction with ProCurve Network Identity Driven Manager software. Together, they enable organisations to address security breaches by controlling users’ access to resources on the network, as well as determining how they connect across both wired and wireless networks.
ProCurve Identity Driven Manager 2.2 (IDM) will provide integration with Microsoft Active Directory, unified access control across both wired and wireless networks and easier management. IDM provides customers with customised access to network resources with standardised RADIUS authentication to secure the network, allowing only approved users - when and where they are authorised - to access the network. IDM 2.2 is fully compatible with Microsoft Network Access Protection, a policy enforcement technology.
ProCurve Network Immunity Manager, a plug-in to ProCurve Manager Plus 2.2, is a security management application that detects and responds to network threats. By analysing information from multiple sources such as third-party security appliances and ProCurve network devices, the solution helps provide protection against zero day and known virus attacks in both wired and wireless networks.
