The minister of communications and information technology, Dayanidhi Maran, has quit the government following a bitter feud within his own regional party.
“If my exit from the party and the cabinet would please my party leader and his family, I am only too happy to do so,” Maran said in his resignation statement.
Maran represents the regional Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party and is a member of the national coalition government led by the Congress Party.
