ORSYP Software, a global provider of enterprise workload automation solutions and services, has released its latest software innovation UNIJOB; an IT system task automation tool for data centres and large IT environments.
In most organisations, Unix (Cron) jobs and Windows tasks usually exist in high volumes and are dispersed and disorganised. As a result, IT organisations end up spending time and resources tracking them down in order to monitor and maintain them. ORSYP’s UNIJOB helps transform this chaos into a controlled and predictable IT Operations environment. More important, it enables a faster mean time to repair in the event that a job fails. Jobs such as backups, ftp, database management, and file system cleanups can represent up to 20 percent of IT operations and often they are the safety net for the successful execution of business applications, in terms of availability and service delivery.
What makes UNIJOB different is that within a few minutes and without any disruptions, IT organisations regain immediate control and visibility over jobs running across multiple Windows, Unix or Linux servers. UNIJOB instantaneously detects and picks up all existing Unix (Cron) jobs as well as centrally supervises and manages jobs without taking over the autonomy of each server/ user level.
“This new offering is part of ORSYP’s strategy towards WAB-readiness (WAB: Workload Automation Broker); it is a key step in filling the gap between IT automation silos that exist today in most IT environments,” said Francois-Xavier Floren, president and CEO of ORSYP Software.
