Oracle Inflates Base In India
As part of its commitment to make Oracle technology and applications accessible to organizations of all sizes across high-growth cities in India, Oracle announced the successful completion of the first phase of expansion into 17 of India’s high-growth cities. With this, Oracle has widened its base in total 23 Indian cities.
"Together with our growing network of over 400 certified channel partners, we provide local expertise and support to help companies better manage their IT infrastructure and business," said Krishan Dhawan, managing director, Oracle India.
Customers who have recently adopted Oracle technology in these growth markets include Sonic Biochem (Indore), Auto Clutches (Goa), Noble Grains India (Jaipur), Indian Copper Complex (Bhubaneshwar), Apex Auto Limited (Bhubaneswar), Bihar Education Project and CMA CGM Logistics Park (Dadri) to name a few.
"We chose Oracle because it is a more cost effective and much more robust and flexible infrastructure. Oracle Database can handle more complex applications than other similar products available in the market," said Prashanth J Thakur, assistant general manager, IT, The Cosmos Co-op Bank.
Oracle has a growing stable of certified partners which include value added distributors (VADs), Ingram Micro India and Sonata Information Technology as well as many reseller organizations, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and System Integrators (SIs) to address the needs of organizations in India's growth cities.
The FOIS uses Oracle Tuxedo for distributed transaction processing.
