BA-Insight, a provider of Microsoft-based information access technology, has released its SAP Connector for SharePoint. This latest addition to BA-Insight’s suite of Connectors provides easy access to enterprise customer contact information stored in a centralised SAP application from Microsoft SharePoint and Search Server.
With over 80,000 companies using SAP, and a growing percentage of these companies implementing SharePoint and Search Server as their enterprise business platform, business people are finding it increasingly important to have instant access to information contained within their SAP application from SharePoint. BA-Insight provides access to this information by enabling easy access to an organisation’s critical customer contact information. The SAP Connector provides intuitive pick lists for selecting which data to search: from manufacturing, to customer, to project. The customisable interface allows organisations to add their own custom search items to the list as well, while fully honouring security.
“Organisations today cannot properly leverage their ERP content for critical decision-making, and existing search applications simply do not provide the security or scalability to meet the needs of today’s knowledge workers,” explained Guy Mounier, BA-Insight’s CEO. “This product fills the gaps in the SharePoint market by enabling employees to instantly access the information they need most from their SAP application in the SharePoint platform.”
BA-Insight’s SAP Connector makes it possible for organisations to include SAP in their Enterprise Search strategy and take full advantage of their investment in SharePoint’s integrated portal to manage content, facilitate collaboration and simplify access to information spread throughout the organisation.
