In order to provide security services to the SMBs particularly, Net4 India has launched a new service known as Net4 Secure in India. The company has planned to invest Rs 14 crores within three years, in its new portfolio.
Informing about the security services market, Jasjit Sawhney, CEO, Net4 India said, “The security services market in India is growing at an alarming rate. The security services market will reach $150 million by 2010 in India. Looking at the requirements of cyber security, we have launched the security services for the mid sized companies. SMBs have no dedicated team for looking into the security problems for their online and offline content. We are targeting them as well as large enterprises who are looking for specialised security services.”
The company has tied up with Appin Security Group, an IIT Delhi incubated company to offer cyber security services to websites. With a tremendous increase in hacking incidents and cyber security threats over the past few years in India, the company is looking to earn revenue of around Rs 30 crores by 20010/11.
Net4 India is a certified partner of CERT -In (Computer Emergency Response Team, India) and is planning to offer security services to the government organisations also. Said B. J. Srinath, senior director, CERT-In, Government of India, “Indian cyber space has no national boundary and there are growing threats to online services. Hence, it is essential to provide expertise services to those SMBs who are in the services industry. These companies earn their major revenue through eCommerce.” CERT-In has 80 certified partners in India who work on behalf of CERT-In.
The company will follow an approach adopted with the permission of the client, to see the possibilities of all lapses in security from an unethical hackers’ view. Net4 India has presently customers base of 75,000 in the hosting space, 700 data centres and over 200,000 registered domain names. The company is immediately targeting these existing customers for the Net 4 Secure services. The company will charge its customers on the basis of annual fees and is targeting the companies who are in the online transaction business. Sawhney opines, “Though there are security vendors providing solutions and specialised services like consultation for cyber security it is not possible for every company in India to afford them at a multinational price level. We are providing more services at an affordable rate. Therefore, we are very positive about the Indian market to make a good hold in the SMB segment.”
