NASSCOM Appoints K.S. Viswanathan As VP-Industry Initiatives

National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), the Information Technology industry body, has announced the appointment of K.S. Viswanathan as Vice President – Industry Initiatives. Viswanathan would be responsible for leading and building key industry forums and will be based at Bangalore.

“The industry has diversified in the last few years and there is an increasing need to build programs and initiatives that can service the differentiated needs of the industry. Viswanathan’s rich industry experience will certainly help to take the NASSCOM agenda forward. I have immense pleasure in welcoming Viswanathan and wish him all the very best,” said Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM.

K.S. Viswanathan has around 30 years of general management and leadership experience in the Indian business context, building key executive relationships and a strong customer capital in diverse business environment. His extensive work experience in the IT industry and social sector comprises of developing and executing operational strategies, managing customer engagement programs, and establishing models for customer acquisition and retention.

Over the span of his career, Viswanathan has held strategic and leadership positions at Wipro, Dell, Azim Premji Foundation and Hilleman Laboratories. As the Head for India geography at Wipro Infotech (2003-2008), he led the positive transformation of and business landscape for Wipro in India. He was the first country manager for Dell in India in 2000 and was instrumental in establishing Dell’s direct business model in India.

Viswanathan is a graduate from Birla Institute of Technology and Science. He holds an MBA in marketing from PSG College of Technology.
