MTNL Rolls Out MPLS Network In Delhi

Sterlite Optical Technologies has announced that it has successfully implemented the MTNL’s MPLS core in New Delhi.

With the completion of this network, MTNL would be able to provide a unified platform to launch its new services like 3G, IPTV and content networks. This network would also enable MTNL to provide VPN and Transparent LAN services to corporate customers in Delhi.

R S P Sinha, CMD - MTNL stated, “The technology would not only ensure consistent performance, but also bring down cost, increase reliability and scalability which is comparatively much more complex and expensive in the traditional networks. MPLS technology provides lower latency, easy provisioning, higher security and bandwidth. The service would be launched shortly in Mumbai.”
