The award is an acknowledgement of Microsoft’s substantial growth in this segment through unique business strategies. While presenting the award, Alok Shende, vice president, ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan, said, “In India, Microsoft has primarily focused on the high growth mid-market ERP segment. It has met the challenge of providing tailor-made solutions at a low price presented by this segment with its strategy of developing micro verticals and user friendly applications in partnership with local integrators.”

A delighted Rajeev Mittal, group director, Small and Mid Market Solution and Partners, Microsoft India, on receiving the award said, “This award further reinforces Microsoft’s commitment to the business applications market in India and our success in providing solutions to SMBs”.

According to Frost & Sullivan research, the ERP software in India in 2005 was estimated to be at USD 45.1 Million, a growth of 25 % over the previous year. It also anticipates continuing high growth in the years 2005-2012 with mid market driving the ERP markets. The mid market ERP software market was worth USD 20.8 in 2005 with an impressive 38.1% growth rate over the year 2004. Frost & Sullivan expects the mid market ERP software market to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.6 % between the years 2005 and 2012.
