Mahindra & Mahindra has deployed Cisco TelePresence technology at three of its locations: corporate headquarters in Worli, Mumbai; the manufacturing plant in Kandivli, Mumbai; and the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai. Mahindra is the first organisation in the manufacturing segment in India to implement this technology. M&M will deploy eight Cisco TelePresence systems in a phased manner across multiple locations in India and overseas.
V.S. Parthasarathy, Group CIO, EVP – Finance and M&A, and Member of Group Executive Board, commented, “Mahindra has always been a pioneer in adopting the latest technologies. On the ERP sphere we have launched Project Harmony to bring all common processes on a single IT platform across the Mahindra Group. We are now happy to provide the organisation with a cutting-edge collaborative and convergence tool. Cisco TelePresence will enhance productivity and the executive decision-making process across multiple sites. With Mahindra’s expanding geographical spread and extensive stress on R&D activities, Cisco TelePresence will greatly help collaboration between teams due to its personalised features besides helping us reduce our carbon footprint.”
“This is truly a significant milestone in the adoption of Cisco’s TelePresence in Indian enterprise, and we congratulate M&M on this,” said Naresh Wadhwa, President and Country Manager, Cisco India & SAARC. “This extensive deployment of Cisco TelePresence technology highlights the vision of the M&M group in adopting the most advanced technology available to facilitate high levels of collaboration and productivity, an imperative to success in business today.
