Luxury redefined! BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983 phone looks gorgeous

BlackBerry’s hardware focus is still alive. The Canadian smartphone maker has just unveiled a luxury smartphone designed by Porsche Design Group, at an exclusive event in Dubai. Named P'9983, the phone runs on BB10 platform and integrates premium quality materials such as sapphire glass for the camera lens, forged stainless steel for the Porsche Design floating logo and chassis, and a special glass-weave technology for the back door.

Porsche Design has collaborated with BlackBerry for the first QWERTY version with BlackBerry 10 with specially crafted glass-like keys with the durability of rigid synthetic material, and a special 3D effect with silver font characters.

The P'9983 comes with a 3.1-inch screen and 8MP camera, and offers 14 hours of talk time.

The Porsche Design P'9983 smartphone also provides an exclusive Porsche Design PIN range - 2AAXXXXX - that sets the owner apart and makes them instantly recognizable among other Porsche Design users.

“Today we mark yet another milestone in delivering an experience that goes beyond luxury,” said Ron Louks, President, Devices and Emerging Solutions at BlackBerry. “The first QWERTY Porsche Design smartphone with BlackBerry 10 experience combines superior productivity, ultimate security and privacy and the performance of the best professional tool with the opportunity to express individual style with the luxury of being one step ahead.”

The device will be available from Porsche Design stores, select carriers and retailers around the world by the beginning of October 2014. BlackBerry, however, hasn’t announced a price or launch date yet, but if reports are to be believed then the P'9983 could cost above $2,000.
