KLG Systel in collaboration with SAP has developed Vidushi to suit the specific functional requirements of the power sector. The software is targeted at state electricity boards, private utilities and other organisations managing power distribution.
Vidushi is developed on SAP Netweaver and is designed to complement the functionalities of SAP IS-Utilities (Industry Solutions for Utilities) to meet the specific needs of the electricity distribution utilities. It is a combination of hardware, software and business processes which enable customers to reduce losses, achieve billing accuracy, improve network operations, customer services and energy accounting.
Vidushi is designed to provide a web based solution for GIS based Consumer Indexing and Loss Analysis Solution to the distribution utilities to improve on their profitability. This provides various analysis and simulation tools to optimise the distribution network and help in network expansion planning.
KLG Systel will use Vidushi and SAP IS - Utilities to execute key projects. KLG Systel will also use its project management tools for the timely execution of these projects.
According to Mukesh Arora, CEO, KLG Systel, said, “The Vidushi platform is being used by KLG to manage power distribution to five million consumers. It is the key to manage endemic problems in transmission and distribution in India.”
“SAP and KLG Systel are strategic partners in multiple verticals and industries and we welcome the initiatives from KLG Systel in developing niche, industry specific solutions. One of our joint initiatives is to seamlessly integrate Vidushi with SAP IS Utilities for the benefit of our utility customers. Adoption of SAP NetWeaver as the application platform for Vidushi would provide more value to the customers by increasing productivity, driving lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and gaining rapid return on investment (ROI),” said Atul Sareen, VP- Platforms, SAP India.
