Juniper Networks, the network innovation service provider, is now a Gold Member of the OpenStack Foundation, reaffirming the company’s commitment to industry collaboration and open standards. The decision was made at the OpenStack Summit, following approval of Juniper’s application by the OpenStack Foundation Board of Directors. Juniper Networks believes industry collaboration and the move toward standards is critical to driving innovation across the networking industry. The company’s broad solutions portfolio and its vision for the future of networking are key to promoting the adoption of OpenStack integrated architectures with partners and customers, enabling flexible application development for cloud computing environments. Juniper sees its OpenStack membership as an opportunity to contribute networking expertise to OpenStack Networking, a project to provide networking as a service and tighten network integration to compute, storage and other key OpenStack components. Additionally, as a contributor to the open community, Juniper’s membership provides the company with a platform to cross-promote other major standards efforts.
Brad Brooks, Vice President of Strategy and Marketing, Juniper Networks, said, “The OpenStack Foundation is helping empower an open community that will provide customers with the technology they need to deliver new services and products. Juniper sees a tremendous opportunity to partner with the organisation to support its larger goals as well as the development of OpenStack Networking.”
