Hitachi To Offer IT Services With Intended Acquisition

Hitachi Ltd, Japan's biggest electronics maker, said that it plans to buy an IT company or business that generates about 300 billion yen ($3.3 billion) in sales.

Junzo Nakajima, head of Hitachi's IT business, said possible targets include a company with data centres as it aims to offer a comprehensive IT service business, which it expects will be one of the company's major operations in coming years. Nakajima declined to specify how much Hitachi plans to spend on the acquisition.
