The one-terabyte (TB) Deskstar 7K1000 hard drive, recently launched by Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) has achieved nine awards and numerous top recommendations from IT and consumer publications in Asia like Computer DIY-Taiwan, e-zone-Hong Kong, PC Weekly-Hong Kong, PC Today, Thailand, China Information World, Chip Computer & Coms, Digit, DigiTimes IT, I Love PC, PC Home Advance, PC Magazine, PC Shopper and Tech Spot.
The 3.5-inch, 7200 RPM Serial-ATA (SATA) Deskstar 7K1000 hard drive is built on perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology. Beyond its sheer capacity, the Deskstar hard drive meets the performance requirements of consumers with fast data transfer rates, low power and advanced shock protection.
Meanwhile HCL Infosystems has recently launched India’s first PC with a 1TB powered with Hitachi GST’s Deskstar7K 1000 hard drive. The PC is targeted at designing and animation professionals, and consumers who use and store multimedia content such as personal videos, home movies, high-definition pictures and music.
The new HCL PC has been introduced in two models, an entry-level PC and a high-end Digital Content Creation Workstation.
