Deepak Visweswaraiah Joins NetApp India As VP

NetApp India has announced the appointment of Deepak Visweswaraiah as the Vice President of Continuous Product Engineering, based in Bangalore. He will be responsible for the design and development of flexible storage products that help organisations build an IT infrastructure that is more responsive to changing business needs. As a senior member of the NetApp R&D team, Deepak will be responsible for NetApp’s Continuous Product Engineering group across the globe and will also help achieve the company’s globalisation goals.

With over 2000 employees, NetApp Bangalore is the largest engineering facility for NetApp globally and has been key in fostering the culture of innovation in the company.

An IT veteran with over 25 years of experience, Deepak joins NetApp from EMC, where he was the Senior Director and General Manager of Infrastructure Management Group (IMG).

“India is vital to our global growth strategy, particularly in the area of product innovation, and is one of our fastest growing markets worldwide. Deepak, who brings with him a wealth of global product engineering expertise, will be crucial in our endeavor to harness and develop the talent pool at our Bangalore engineering team in a way that continues to raise the innovation bar higher while beefing up the senior management team with a considerable amount of global vision towards product engineering. Deepak’s leadership will contribute significantly in the organisation’s goal of transforming the Bangalore engineering centre as the product innovation hub of NetApp globally,” said Manish Goel, Executive Vice President, Product Operations, NetApp.

Amongst a host of global corporate responsibilities that he has been entrusted with over the years, Deepak has played key senior management and engineering roles in the United States with global technology giants like LSI Logic and Adobe Systems.

Sharing his first thoughts post the appointment Mr. Visweswaraiah said, “Very few Hi-Tech companies of scale enjoy such credibility and goodwill across the world as NetApp does, which makes the responsibility all the more overwhelming. I would look to build on NetApp’s status as a preferred storage and data management vendor, while also trying to expand our presence in exciting spaces such as Cloud & Big Data.”

Deepak holds a M.S. in Engineering from University of Texas and an MBA from University of Phoenix, USA.
