Corporate Network Becomes Core Of Business With Global Expansion On Rise

A recent Cable&Wireless Worldwide survey has shown that business critical trans-continental communications are now even more essential for businesses, as global corporations look outside their domestic market for growth in the next 12 months. Results from the survey show that more than 68 percent of key decision makers in multinational companies are looking beyond their home market, to newer and less saturated global markets, for growth.

The survey of executives from more than 300 multinational companies was conducted in June 2009 by Vanson Bourne, on behalf of Cable&Wireless. The executives were asked about their plans to sustain growth in the current economic climate.

China and India still top the list of popular ’non-domestic’ markets for US and European-based multinationals with at least 55 percent of them stating that these two countries were critical to their growth. In addition, intra-Asia trade and commerce seems set for a boost with more than 60 percent of all Asia Pacific executives citing that they will look at other Asian markets (outside their domestic market) for continued business expansion.

Nick Lambert, managing director-Global Markets, Cable&Wireless Worldwide said, “This research corroborates a trend that we’re already seeing in our business; a trend of multinational customers demanding robust business critical communication networks that seamlessly, and reliably, link up their operations across the world. More and more of our customers are seeking high-bandwidth connectivity and value-added telecom solutions such as managed video and voice solutions that they can deploy across their global business.”

“As companies invest outside their home markets and set up manufacturing, sales, and service organisations across the globe, the corporate network is becoming the core of their business. The role of the network as the most critical organisational asset is growing; companies need to look for a service provider that understands this and can deliver the critical infrastructure needed today, with the ability to support the company’s growth in the future.”
