Cisco Establishes CoE In Bangalore

Cisco is setting up a centre of excellence (CoE) for its unified communication application business in Bangalore.

The CoE will focus on Asia Pacific and Middle East with the span of activity ranging from product lifecycle management to consulting and innovation. It will work on new product developments and make them localised to suit the regional requirements.

According to Donald R Proctor, senior VP, Voice Technology Group, Cisco, “The CoE in Bangalore is a natural progression of its R&D operations moving from offshoring, product lifecyle management and now CoE."

“The unified communication business market is currently estimated to be around $25 billion and we have 10% marketshare. Although 50% of our revenues come from the North America market, we expect future growth to come from the emerging economies like India,” added Proctor.
