Check Point Software Technologies has announced Check Point Endpoint Security, a single agent for total endpoint security that combines firewall, network access control (NAC), programme control, antivirus, anti-spyware, data security and remote access.

Designed to protect company laptops and PCs against malware, data loss and theft and other threats while enabling secure remote access to the corporate network, Check Point Endpoint Security claims to simplify security by providing a single software agent, single management console and single installation deployed and managed by a single administrator.

“Enterprises can finally reap the benefits of having a single, easy-to-manage endpoint security solution to protect their desktops, laptops and other resources,” said Gil Shwed, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Check Point.

“Our unified agent for total endpoint security significantly reduces the total cost of ownership and provides organisations with enhanced security. The complexity of deployment, also the cost associated with audit and management would come down considerably’ said Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu, Country Sales Manager, India & SAARC, Check Point Software Technologies.

With Check Point Endpoint Security’s SmartDefense Programme Advisor service administrators can control which programmes are allowed to run on corporate PCs by leveraging a dynamic database of hundreds of thousands of known good and bad programmes to automate policy decisions and terminate malicious programmes.

“Enterprises require both advanced endpoint protection and a management platform that can efficiently manage and enforce a security policy,” said Charles Kolodgy, research director of Secure Content and Threat Management research at IDC. “With the Check Point Endpoint Security customers receive both with a robust endpoint software security product coupled to a single management and reporting system. The ability to centrally manage various security features like anti-malware, firewall, IPS, VPN, and NAC clients relieves a lot of headaches for administrators.”
