Canon India Pvt Ltd, a complete digital imaging company, along with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised a National Seminar on “Office Automation & Imaging: Enabling the Next Big Leap.” The seminar witnessed the presence of eminent people from the Government, corporatist and customers-at-large. The summit was a platform for sharing the benefits of Office Automation & Imaging products and a platform to exchange new ideas amongst the vendors and users.

Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President Canon India Pvt Ltd said “With augmented demand in transparency and accountability focus on TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) reduction, government and companies today are increasingly aware of the need for improved office automation. They are adopting technological practices that will improve productivity, reduce waste and eliminate redundancy while minimising environment impact. We feel that Office Automation & Imaging will streamline the complete office infrastructure and will help in increasing productivity.”

The inaugural session addressed the need for enhanced technology adaption in government which will empower and help in increasing productivity. It will also enable the Government to be more accountable and transparent. The session was opened by Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President Canon India Pvt Ltd and Chairman of CII OA&I Division. The inaugural address was delivered by Mr. N Vijayaditya, former DG, NIC, Department of electronics & IT, Ministry of communications & IT.

With an increasing demand for faster decision making, organisations are aiming for cost reduction, improved turnaround time and serviceability. They are looking for value driven solutions for continuous business process improvements within corporate and government; there is a high demand for managed integration of office functions. Bridging this gap, is where office automation acts as an integral part to Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry and is playing a vital role in the Government and Corporate sector today.

The daylong event had panel discussions around ‘Enhancing Productivity of India Inc-Leveraging Managed Document Services’ and ‘Role of Technology in Education-Creating a Secure Environment’. Amongst the panelists were speakers like V P Gupta, ISS, Deputy Director General, DGS&D, Abha Shukla, IAS, Secretary, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power and J K Dadoo, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce amongst others.
